Our Heritage & Vision
Ivory Cliffs Estate was established in 2025, founded by three individuals who shared a dream for creating an industry leading hunting estate. Combining decades of experience in world-class guiding, luxury hospitality, estate development & Red Stag genetics. Our founders set out to offer a peerless experience where the thrill of the hunt is matched only by the elegance and comfort of the accommodations. Liam Quinn, co-owner and director of Ivory Cliffs Estate, was literally born into the guided hunting industry in New Zealand and has been involved in outfitting his entire life. From guiding in New Zealand to North America, he has developed a comprehensive understanding of the global outfitting landscape. He knows what it takes to operate a world-class outfit and ensure every detail is accounted for. Importantly, Liam is there to host every hunt at Ivory Cliffs Estate, ensuring his unparalleled expertise is a hands-on part of your experience.
Liam also brings the invaluable perspective of a seasoned client. Having had the privilege to book and experience numerous high-end hunts overseas, from the mountains of Tajikistan to the continent of Africa, he understands firsthand what it is like to be the guest—from the frustrations of a poorly run operation to the profound joy of a truly great wilderness adventure.

The Ivory Cliffs Experience
Ivory Cliffs Estate is located in the sunny Hawkes Bay region on the North Island of New Zealand. The lodge is a one hour drive from Napier city which also hosts our closest regional airport.
Nestled on 2,500 acres of breathtaking wilderness, the estate, locally known as Te Rangi Station (Māori for "the sky"), offers an unparalleled hunting sanctuary. The name perfectly captures the vast, open feel and dramatic skies of this pristine location. Historically significant, Te Rangi Station was one of New Zealand’s original deer farms, pioneering the capture and management of wild deer, a legacy that ensures a robust and genetically superior herd today.
Rising dramatically from the landscape are the magnificent, sheer-faced sandstone formations that give the estate its name—the Ivory Cliffs. These towering, pale-coloured bluffs slice through the property, creating breathtaking vistas and superb glassing positions. The name resonates perfectly with the exceptional trophy animals found here, as the majestic Red Stags of the estate are renowned for their distinctive, sought-after 'ivory tips on their impressive antlers.
The Expansive Estate
Access to our expansive Estate is thoughtfully managed. The entire property is serviced by a network of well-maintained tracks, allowing us to utilize our high-spec Can-Am ATVs for transportation. This ensures that the magnificent Stags and diverse terrain are accessible to hunters of all fitness levels, allowing every guest to fully experience the beauty and thrill of the Ivory Cliffs Estate without compromise.
The entire property operates as one vast area, defined by a single external boundary fence and no internal fencing, allowing the game to thrive in a natural, expansive environment. The diverse landscape consists of fertile grasslands interspersed with dense pockets of native New Zealand forest, providing ideal habitat and challenging terrain that caters to the true sportsman.
